Growing up in Saas-Fee, a small town nestled in the Swiss Alps, I was immersed in a world of engineering from an early age, inspired by my civil engineer father and my electrical engineering uncle. This dual influence sparked my passion for both large-scale structures and the intricate systems that make them function. My unique background as a dual citizen allowed me to attend high school and college in the United States, which provided a robust foundation in mechanical engineering before I returned to Switzerland.

My career journey began as a Design Engineer at Garaventa AG, where I was immediately immersed in the world of large-scale, complex mechanical systems. There, I had the privilege of working on groundbreaking projects, including designing aerial tramways that broke records as some of the steepest in the world. This experience, which contributed to over $20 million in annual sales, was where I honed my foundational skills in engineering design, project execution, and client-focused problem-solving, all while navigating the unique challenges of high-performance transport systems.
After my time at Garaventa, I moved back to California to attend a dual master’s degree, one in mechanical engineering with a concentration on dynamic control systems and an MBA in technology management. After that, I went to work for Olympus-Controls as an automation engineer, specializing in the cutting-edge fields of motion control, machine vision, and robotics. Over four years, I managed the end-to-end project lifecycle for sophisticated automation solutions for a diverse range of high-profile clients. This experience deepened my technical expertise in robotics and mechatronic systems while simultaneously sharpening my skills in cross-functional team leadership, project management, and client communication.
Inspired by these experiences, I founded DEA Engineered Machines LLC, where I now serve as a Project Engineer. This entrepreneurial venture has allowed me to take full ownership of the product lifecycle, from initial concept and hardware integration to final deployment. Here, I’ve developed advanced external axis motion control solutions and worked on high-performance robotic systems, proving my ability to lead and execute complex projects with autonomy and strategic vision. This blend of hands-on technical expertise, project leadership, and a proven ability to innovate is what continues to drive my passion for engineering today.
